The Final Adornment
Lord Jagannath is dressed in various Beshas (attires) throughout the day, depending on the ritual and the season. However, the most universally beloved and serene attire is the Bada Singhara Besha, which occurs every night before the deities go to sleep (Pahuda).
Floral Majesty
In this Besha, the deities are adorned not with gold or heavy silk, but entirely with fresh, fragrant flowers.
"The Pushpalaka servitors weave intricate floral crowns, garlands, and heart-shaped flower ornaments. The air fills with the scent of jasmine, lotus, and camphor."
This attire is deeply tied to the mood of Madhurya Rasa - the sweet, intimate love between the Lord and His devotees. It is said that anyone who witnesses the Bada Singhara Besha carries the soothing peace of the Lord's face into their dreams.
